Custom Packaging Products
When Mercedes-Benz decided to have the European fleet of M-Class vehicles built in Graz, Austria, they needed to get all of the components shipped overseas in recyclable packaging. For many of the components, this was going to be quite a challenge. ZF Industries needed to ship their Chassis components (Axles/Struts/Shocks/etc;) in corrugated packaging.
Working under a very tight time schedule, Mid South Packaging developed packs for the various components which were constructed of 100% paper. This was quite a design challenge, especially for the Axle, which weighed in excess of 300 lbs. The pictures here show the completed pack, which was designed, tested, and assembled at Mid South. The other pictures show the packs which were developed for Shocks, Struts, and Torsion Bar Anchors.
Several other Mercedes-Benz’ suppliers also enlisted the help of Mid South Packaging to provide packaging for their parts destined for Graz, Austria.
